Toyota has rebadged the Prius V as a Daihatsu Mebius for the Japanese domestic market (JDM).

After Toyota transformed the Camry Hybrid into the Daihatsu Altis, they are doing the same thing again with the Prius V which will be sold as a Daihatsu Mebius. The cars are identical both inside and out, with the exception the Mebius is offered exclusively as a five-seater while the Prius V can be ordered also with a seven-seat arrangement.

Power comes from a hybrid setup consisting of a 1.8-liter gasoline engine rated at 99 HP (73kW) working together with an electric motor for a combined output of 136 HP (100 kW). The car has a fuel consumption of 3.82 liters / 100 km (61.5 mpg US or 73.9 mpg UK).

The base model has a starting price of JPY2,350,000 (23,600 USD) while the range-topping variant costs JPY2,800,000 (28,000 USD).
