BMW has unveiled two new displays for Salone del Mobile 2013.
First up, the MINI KAPOOOW! "crosses the boundaries of space and undergoes a transformation of its materials and forms." It is a multidimensional exhibit which showcases the MINI Paceman as an emotional product that breaks through the "norm." As a result, the sculpture shows a Paceman crashing through a wall and emerging surrounded by colorful papers that represent the prototyping stage of the creative process.
On the other hand, the BMW i Quiet Motion display was developed in cooperation with Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. Designed to embrace the lightweight and environmentally-friendly image of BMW i, the Quiet Motion exhibit has electrically-powered cork platforms that slowly turn. The platforms also have leather seats and fiberglass roofs that are supported by carbon fiber columns.
