Formula One two-time World Champion Fernando Alonso has taken a break from racing to test out the new LaFerrari.
Piloting a lightly camouflaged prototype, Alonso looked pretty happy as he drove the company's latest supercar that features an electric motor and a 6.3-liter V12 engine. This setup enables the LaFerrari to have a combined maximum output of 963 HP (708 kW) which allows it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in less than three seconds and hit a top speed in excess of 350 km/h (217 mph).
The company also revealed Alonso spent several months helping to fine tune the LaFerrari's driving position, handling and control locations.
According to Alonso, “I am always happy to spend a few days in Maranello. Apart from working on the car and being in close contact with the team, sometimes I’m able to see some of the production departments which are the heart of the company. This time I met up with people who are never in the limelight, but they have an incredible love for their work."
