The third generation of the Renault Twingo has been confirmed for a 2014 debut and its design will take cues from the Twin’Z Concept.

Wearing a satin blue livery as a tribute to French painter Yves Klein, the concept draws its inspiration from the first-gen Twingo and Renault 5 models with enhancements provided by Ross Lovegrove. Its styling is the work of Renault chief designer Laurens van den Acker who says the Twin’Z represents the notion of "play".

The car's front end has a "near-humanlike gaze" with circular daytime running lights which "form a structure of strips redolent of an iris", while the headlights are "using the minimum number of lines to communicate a positive, alert expression".

Renault is preparing a new concept which will probably be unveiled later this year as a preview for the next-gen Laguna.
