Jaguar initially planned making only 30 units of the XKR-S GT but this number could be increased if there's enough demand.

Jaguar chief Adrian Hallmark declared just 24 hours after the car made its debut at New York Auto Show that 20 additional cars can be built if there are enough customers to buy them. Hallmark said "It is possible the production run will reach 50" and "the initial cap was set to define the business case but, thankfully, there is room for more."

To reiterate, the 2014 XKR-S GT is powered by a V8 5.0-liter supercharged engine producing 550 HP (404 kW) and 501 lb-ft (680 Nm) of torque. Power is transferred to rear wheels via a 6-speed automatic gearbox and an active electronic differential. It takes 3.9 seconds until it reaches 60 mph (96 km/h) and will hit an electronically-capped top speed of 186 mph (299 km/h).

The special edition XKR-S benefits from a sports-tuned suspension with new adaptive dampers and updated bushings, a better steering system, new traction control system and carbon ceramic discs measuring 398mm front and 380mm rear.

All cars will be sold with a Polaris White exterior paint.
