The first official images with the 2014 Acura MDX production version has surfaced the Internet before the car's debut later today at New York Auto Show.
At the beginning of the year Acura introduced the MDX concept in Detroit and now they are about to launch its production-ready version. Looking virtually the same as the preview concept, the 2014 MDX has angular LED headlights, a sloping roofline and a prominent front grille. No press release available yet, but it's known it will ride on a new platform bringing more second-row legroom, easier third-row access and an improved ride quality.
Under the hood it will have a V6 3.5-liter i-VTEC engine with variable cylinder management. It's output is not known for the moment but most likely it will be in the 310 bhp (231 kW) and 368 Nm (272 lb-ft) region. As standard, the 2014 MDX will have a FWD layout but an optional AWD setup will be available at an extra cost.
Inside it will boast a next-gen AcuraLink Connectivity System, as well as safety equipment like Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Multi-Angle Rearview Camera and Blind Spot Information.
Full details will be available very soon.
