Looking far more stylish than its predecessor, the convertible will closely mimic the A3 sedan that will be introduced later this month. Despite being heavily camouflaged, we can see the car will have a prominent grille, LED-infused headlights and a retractable fabric roof. The prototype also has five-spoke alloy wheels and a dual exhaust system.

Engine options are expected to carryover from the hatchback so expect choices to include a 1.8-liter TFSI with 180 HP (132 kW) and a 2.0-liter TDI with outputs 150 HP (110 kW) and 184 HP (135 kW). There could also be an S3 Cabrio with 300 HP (221 kW) and an RS3 variant with a turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine that develops up to 400 HP (294 kW).
