Alpine has taken the wraps off their n°36 race car which will compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Designed to compete in the LMP2 class, the n°36 has an aerodynamic design with a carbon fiber front splitter and a massive rear spoiler. We can also see a large vertical fin and blue and orange livery.

Power is provided by a Nissan-sourced 5.0-liter V8 engine that develops 500 HP (368 kW). It is connected to a six-speed X-Trac transmission which enables the 900 kg (1,984 lb) race car to hit a top speed of 330 km/h (205 mph).

The car will be driven by Nelson Panciatici, Pierre Ragues and Tristan Gommendy.Paul-Loup Chatin will also serve as a reserve driver.

The n°36 will begin testing later this month, before having its first race at Silverstone on April 13th.
