Ford has announced plans to introduce the FF1 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Described as a "Formula Ford-inspired" track car, the FF1 is a street-legal model that features a 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost engine which enables it to hit a top speed of almost 160 mph (257 km/h). The engine also allows the FF1 to lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7 minutes and 22 seconds which puts it ahead of supercars such as the Lamborghini Aventador, Ferrari Enzo and Pagani Zonda.
Despite the impressive performance, Ford says the FF1 can return over 100 mpg UK (83.2 mpg US / 2.8 L/100km) without modification.
The FF1 will be shown alongside the Fiesta ST which will take part in the Moving Motor Show on July 11th. Ford also announced several GT 40 models from their heritage collection will take part in the Goodwood Revival which takes place in September.
