Tata Motors opened last week in Detroit, Michigan a new engineering center. eMO-C to remain a concept
Tata Motors opened last week in Detroit, Michigan a new engineering center.
On this occasion they also showcased a concept of an electric delivery van known as the eMO-C which won't reach production phase since it is considered strictly an engineering study. Tata did however estimate a price tag for the vehicle, ranging from 15,750 USD to 23,750 USD.
The eMO-C is a follow-up to last year's eMO EV concept and was developed to support three battery modules providing a range of up to 50 miles (80 km), 100 miles (160 km) and 150 miles (240 km), respectively. The electric concept meets all North American safety regulations and can be customized for specific market regulations.
As far as the center is concerned, it is located at 800 Tower Drive, Suite 200 and has a 10,000 sq. ft. size. Right now 60 engineers are working but the number will grow to 100 before the end of the year. This group was responsible for developing the aforementioned eMO EV concept and is being led by Kevin Fisher.
