McLaren asked Sergio Perez to take a ride in the new P1 at the Top Gear test track.
Sergio "Checo" Perez has replaced Lewis Hamilton at the McLaren F1 team so obviously one of his responsibilities is to promote the recently introduced McLaren P1. The latest marketing scheme was to take a camouflaged P1 (the video probably was made before official reveal) and test it around the Top Gear track at the Dunsfold Aerodrome.
As a reminder, the P1 is powered by a twin-turbo, V8 3.8-liter engine unleashing 737 HP (542 kW) and 720 Nm (531 lb-ft). The supercar also has an electric motor with 179 HP (132 kW) and 260 Nm (192 lb-ft), providing the P1 with a combined output of 916 HP (674 kW) and 900 Nm (663 lb-ft). It's enough for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in less than 3 seconds and an electronically-capped top speed of 217 mph (350 km/h).
Limited to 375 units, the McLaren P1 will have a starting price of 866,000 GBP.
