Mercedes-Benz was kind enough to release lots of new photos with the brutal 6x6 G63 AMG.
Although AMG is not working on a hypercar, they certainly know how to make a very exciting vehicle. A fine example is this three-axle G63 AMG which has been previously confirmed to enter "small-series production" (20-30 units / year). Scheduled to go on sale in October, it will be Mercedes-Benz's second most expensive model, after the SLS Electric Drive which costs 416,500 EUR.
Power comes from an AMG V8 bi-turbo 5.5-liter engine rated at 544 HP (400 kW) and 758 Nm (560 lb-ft) of torque, linked to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC automatic gearbox. The off-roader is 5.87-meter long and 2.10-meter wide, with an almost 2.30-meter ground clearance and huge 37-inch tires.
With a curb weight of 3,850 kg (8,487 lbs), the 6x6 G63 AMG is without any doubt one of the most capable off-roaders ever made. No performance figures were released but these are irrelevant anyway for such a beast which was built to conquer all types of terrains, not to set Nürburgring records. We are curious though to find out its fuel consumption.
