We have obtained yet another batch of spy photos with the highly anticipated BMW i8 hybrid supercar which will be unveiled in production guise sometime this year.
The prototype spotted here comes with the production taillights rather than the faux "trailer-style" units seen on previous spy photos. The model will introduce BMW's "i" lineup which will also consist of a more affordable i3 model.
The BMW i8 will adopt a 2+2 seating layout and will feature a 3-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine and an electric motor. As a reminder, the concept had a diesel engine and a 170 hp (125 kW) electric motor.
BMW's green supercar will perform the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in approximately 4.8 seconds and is expected to cost about 150,000 EUR (127,833 GBP or 200,775 USD).
