Daimler boss Dieter Zetsche confirmed the next-gen S-Class will be revealed on May 15th in Hamburg.
He added the new S-Class "is the most important car of all to us" and "its success makes us stronger going forward." This date confirms a leaked presentation in which lots of details surfaced, like the fact that it will enter production in August and go on sale in September 2013. Before the end of the year it will be offered in S550 4MATIC and S63 AMG 4MATIC flavors.
Like all previous generations, the new S-Class will be the pinnacle of automotive technology and will be moved upmarket since now it won't collide with Maybach. It will be offered in three wheelbase lengths, a coupe and a convertible. The version with the longest wheelbase will replace the Maybach 57 and could receive the "Pullman" name when it comes out next year.
