Renault is filling the gap between the base Clio and the range-topping RS 200 EDC with the GT version which is being showcased in Geneva.
UPDATE: Renault has officially revealed the Clio GT 120 EDC hatchback and estate. All the info posted several hours ago is entierly accurate. Check out the attached press release for additional details.
The new GT version has a different front bumper with bigger air vents and LED DRLs. The front grille looks more aggressive and shows a lot of similarities with the one fitted to the RS version. Other noticeable features include different mirror and door trims, darkened headlamps, 17-inch alloys with 205/45 R17 tires, twin chrome pipes and a rear diffuser.
We are almost positive under the hood is an all-new 4-cylinder, 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 120 HP (88 kW) and 140 lb-ft (190 Nm) of torque linked to a dual-clutch 6-speed gearbox. This setup should allow the Clio GT reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 8.6 seconds and a top speed of 123 mph (199 km/h).
It has a fuel consumption of 5.2 liters / 100 km (45.2 mpg US or 54.3 mpg UK) in the combined cycle and CO2 emissions of 120 g/km.
