BMW has introduced a special edition of the 116i called Fashionista exclusively for the Japanese market.

BMW has introduced a special edition of the 116i called Fashionista exclusively for the Japanese market.

BMW is trying to entice Japanese buyers with the 116i Fashionista which will be sold only as a five-door hatchback with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine producing 136 HP (100 kW) connected to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Limited to 370 units, each car will have a starting price of 3,460,000 yen (28,500 EUR or 37,500 USD).

It will be sold with a choice of three exterior paints: White III Arupin, Crimson Red and Deep Sea Blue, with all featuring 17-inch alloys wrapped around in 205/50 R17 rubbers. The window surrounds are black, while the exhaust pipe and kidney grille are chromed.

Moving inside, we find Dakota Oyster leather-wrapped (front heated) seats, rear view camera with Park Distance Control, as well as glossy off-white finish for the trims on the lower center of the console, dashboard and door arms. The handbrake and sections of the doors also feature the aforementioned leather.
