Lancia has announced plans to offer a 2.8-liter four-cylinder diesel engine in the Voyager minivan.

The Lancia Voyager is a rebadged Chrysler Town & Country, but that hasn't stopped the company from announcing a series of changes to the minivan.

First and foremost, the Voyager will be offered with a new 2.8-liter four-cylinder diesel engine that develops 178 HP (131 kW) and 360 Nm (265 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission which allows the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 11.5 seconds, hit a top speed of 193 km/h (120 mph) and average 7.9 L/100km (29.7 mpg US / 35.7 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of 207 g/km.

The updated model also gains two new exterior colors - Maximum Steel and Billet Silver - as well as a new Trailer Sway Damping system which works with the Electronic Stability Control system to brake the van to "maintain the stability of the vehicle and trailer."
