ercedes-Benz USA CEO Steve Cannon has confirmed plans to launch 30 new vehicles by 2020.

We've already heard reports that Mercedes will introduce 13 all-new models by 2020, but Mercedes-Benz USA CEO Steve Cannon has confirmed there will actually be a total of 30 vehicles.

Speaking to members of the International Motor Press Association, Cannon said there will be an "influx of innovative new products for our current owners and we'll enter other segments to bring new buyers to the brand." He declined to elaborate but estimated the company will average one launch, in America, every quarter for the next seven years.

For 2013, Cannon is focused on launching the CLA and the redesigned S-Class. Both models will go on sale this fall and act as bookends for the brand.

While launching 30 new models sounds daunting, the number apparently includes different body styles and derivatives. This could imply there will be 13 all-new models but a total of 30 variants.
