Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche has reportedly confirmed plans to introduce a GLA concept at the Shanghai Auto Show.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference in Germany, Zetsche went on to say the production model will be introduced at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September.

The executive gave no details, but previous spy photos have shown the model will closely resemble the A-Class but be distinguished by revised bodywork and an increased ride height. Engine options will likely include the usual suspects, so expect a variety of four-cylinders with outputs of up to 211 HP (155 kW). There could also be an AMG variant with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops approximately 354 HP (260 kW).
