According to a recent report, Toyota is developing a rear-wheel drive hatchback.

Designed to be positioned as a "little brother" to the GT 86, the five-door hatchback is rumored to be a reimagined version of the Rush crossover. As such, the model is expected to have a lower ride height and a four-wheel independent suspension.

Additional information is limited, but sources have told Motor Trend the car will feature a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that develops approximately 150 bhp (112 kW).

The model could be launched as early as 2016 and pricing is expected to start at roughly $20,000.
