The 2014 Range Rover Sport has been spied cold weather testing in Northern Europe.
Caught wearing less camouflage than ever before, the model has an Evoque-inspired front fascia with slender headlights and a two bar grille. We can also see a sloping roofline, a tailgate-mounted spoiler and distinctive taillights.
Engine options will likely carryover from the standard Range Rover, so expect choices to include:
- A 3.0-liter LR-TDV6 diesel with 255 bhp (190 kW) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque
- A 4.4-liter LR-SDV8 diesel with 335 bhp (250 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque
- A 5.0-liter LR-V8 with 375 bhp (280 kW) and 510 Nm (376 lb-ft) of torque
- A supercharged LR-V8 with 504 bhp (376 kW) and 625 Nm (461 lb-ft) of torque
While the engine lineup is somewhat familiar, we can expect a notable increase in fuel efficiency as the Sport will ride on the Range Rover's lightweight aluminum platform. This should also pay dividends in the handling department, but we'll likely have to wait until later this year to find out for sure.
