Skoda is preparing the more practical estate variant for the recently introduced third-gen Octavia which will most likely retain the same roofline as the outgoing version. Like the standard model, the Combi variant will grow in size and provide more space for the passengers and their cargo.
It's safe to say engine lineup will be carried over from the sedan, meaning there will be four gasoline engines with outputs varying from 86 HP to 180 HP, along with four diesels producing from 90 HP to 150 HP. Depending on the choice of engine, Skoda will be offering a 5- or 6-speed manual transmission, as well as a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
The 2013 Skoda Octavia Combi is expected to go on sale later this year.
