A YouTube user was able to record footage with a McLaren P1 in Beverly Hills.
The video was recorded just before McLaren presented the P1 to a select number of potential customers and journalists at the SLS hotel in Beverly Hills last week. The car is the same production-ready model we have seen before, wearing a dark tint on the windows to hide the interior cabin which will be revealed in March at Geneva.
The car is set to use the same 3.8-liter V8 engine as the MP4-12C but tweaked to generate around 800 hp (596 kW). It will boast an F1-inspired KERS which will add more horsepower for a limited amount of time. Set to tackle the Ferrari F150, the P1 is aiming to be the quickest car on the Nürburgring.
It will be limited to just 500 cars and will go on sale later on this year at a starting price of about 1.2M USD, whereas the Porsche 918 Spyder begins at 845,000 USD.
