GAC Group has introduced the E-JET concept at 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The only Chinese representative at the event was GAC and the star of their stand was the E-JET concept which seems to borrow a few styling cues from the recently unveiled Mercedes-Benz CLA.

This is a range-extended hybrid featuring a 4-cylinder, 1.0-liter gasoline engine producing 60 hp (45 kW) and 82 Nm (60 lb-ft). The permanent magnet motor generates a peak output of 127 hp (95 kW), while the permanent magnet generator is rated at 40 hp (30 kW). It needs 4.5 seconds to reach 31 mph (50 km/h) and has a top speed of 99 mph (160 km/h).

The car measures 4570x1790x1490mm and has a 2620mm wheelbase. It tips the scales at 1,550 kg (3,417 lbs) and can be driven in electric mode for up to 62 miles (100 km) thanks to its 13 kWh lithium-ion battery. The total range of the E-JET concept is estimated at 373 miles (600 km) with a fuel consumption of 1.9 L / 100 km (123.8 mpg US or 148.6 mpg UK).
