The first Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (VIN ending in 0001) will be offered at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale collector car auction this weekend.
All the money earned at the C7 auction will benefit the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, an automotive design program. The sale is scheduled for tomorrow evening and bids can be submitted either in person or online at www.barrett-jackson.com.
Aside from auctioning the first Stingray, four other special Corvettes will cross the block: GM's CEO Dan Akerson's 1958 Corvette, a 2012 COPO Camaro Convertible, Guy Fieri's personalized 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible Collector Edition and a 2013 Camaro ZL1 Convertible.
The money obtained from these four cars will go to the Habitat for Humanity's initiative to improve Detroit's Morningside Commons neighborhood, American Heart Association, Guy Fieri Foundation for Inspiration and Imagination and to the Achilles International.
