Nissan has introduced in Detroit the 2014 Versa Note which is set to arrive in dealerships in June from 13,990 USD (without destination & handling fees).

Looking slightly better than the sedan, the hatchback is powered by a 1.6-liter engine producing 109 hp (81 kW) at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 107 lb-ft (145 Nm) at 4,400 rpm. The power unit can be connected to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a new Xtronic CVT. With the latter, Nissan says the Versa Note can return 31 mpg city / 40 mpg highway / 35 mpg combined.

With a wheelbase of 102.4 inches, the 2014 Nissan Versa Note has an interior volume of 115.5 cubic feet and provides a cargo space of 21.4 cubic feet. A large flat cargo area can be created after folding down the 60/40-split rear seat.

It will be sold in four trim levels: S, S Plus, SV and SL, and can be equipped with the company's Around View Monitor and the NissanConnectSM with Navigation System. The former has four small wide-angle cameras installed on the front, rear and side to offer a 360-degree view of what's around the car. Optionally available is also a 5.8-inch touchscreen display.
