Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne announced plans to drop the Chrysler Town & Country when the next-generation Dodge Grand Caravan is introduced, but it looks like the automaker is having second thoughts.

The Detroit Free Press is reporting the company is showing four concepts - a Dodge and Chrysler minivan and a Dodge and Chrysler crossover - at consumer clinics to determine which models will be appropriated to each brand. While only two models are slated for production, the company wants to eliminate overlap by approving a minivan for one brand and a crossover for the other.

According to styling guru Ralph Gilles, "We know not all of them [the concepts] will see the light of day, but we spend a lot of time studying scenarios, trying out designs that could work in each scenario so we're ready whichever way it goes."
