The 2014 Volkswagen Golf Estate (aka variant or wagon) has already been spied and rendered, but here's our first look at the model on video.

Recently caught undergoing testing, the Golf Estate has an evolutionary design but will reportedly feature an enlarged boot which will enable it to carry an additional 120 liters (4.2 cubic feet) of luggage.

Engine options will likely carryover from the standard Golf, so expect choices to include:

  • A 1.2-liter TSI with outputs of 85 HP (63 kW) and 105 HP (77 kW)
  • A 1.4-liter TSI with outputs of 122 HP (90 kW) and 140 HP (103 kW)
  • A 1.6-liter TDI with 105 PS (77 kW) and 250 Nm (185 lb-ft) of torque
  • A 2.0-liter TDI with 150 PS (110 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque

The Volkswagen Golf Estate could be unveiled early next year, so look for a possible debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
