Mazda Motor Corporation today announced enhancements to the sporty and stylish Mazda Premacy range in Japan. The Premacy is known as the Mazda5 overseas and the target sales volume is 1,800 units a month.

Communicative and Dynamic

We have been able to bring you spy shots of the Mazda Premacy facelift (known simply as Mazda 5 in most of the world) not too long ago, and now Mazda has launched its people carrier in Japan. Part of the model update is that all Front-Wheel-Drive versions receive an electronically controlled five-speed automatic transmission and all model grades now adopt sequential valve timing (S-VT) resulting in more power and less harmful emissions. Suspension has been altered too in order to supply a more stable and comfortable ride.

On the exterior Mazda has updated the front bumper and created new headlights. LED indicators lights and rear combination lights are optionally available on premium models. Seven new colors have been added to the product mix, bringing the total to eleven. The interior instrument cluster has been redesigned and is now white-on-black.
