Dacia's UK managing director is interested in adding a two-seater sports car in the company's lineup.
In an interview given to Auto Express, Dacia's UK managing director Thierry Sybord said that "his dream" is to launch a two-seater sports car.
Sybord sees this model as an original Alpine, characterizing it as being "simple, affordable and most of all fun to drive." Speaking of the Alpine name, Renault and Caterham have recently joined forces to resurrect the legendary icon, but the Romanian firm will not use the new tech because "the new Alpine platform will be way too expensive for Dacia."
To make it affordable, Dacia would have to borrow the same Logan chassis and "use a similar philosophy to the original MX-5 but cheaper."
