Saleen announced during the L.A. Auto Show a brand new model named 351 Mustang.

Steve Saleen is back in charge of his namesake brand and the first model planned is the 351 Mustang that is being previewed at the L.A. show through this rendering. At its heart is a Saleen-engineered supercharged 351 cubic inch V8 engine producing 700 hp (522 kW) and 655 lb-ft (887 Nm) of torque.

Power will be sent to the wheels via a six-speed transmission with a performance clutch system and a 3.73:1 final drive ratio. Stopping power comes from 15-inch discs, with the car riding on 20-inch alloys with high-performance rubbers.

In terms of styling, the 351 Mustang features a functional butterfly hood scoop, carbon fiber front and rear splitters, and a rear diffuser made from the same lightweight material which incorporates the "F1 style tail lamp."
