Developed in conjunction with 'Rollerblade', the concept car is built around a roller-skating theme, with its inspiration coming from the shared values of 'mobility, togetherness and lust for life'.
Renault are to present their sporting new concept car, the Kangoo Compact, at the Frankfurt Motor Show this week. Targeting sporty young buyers, the compact vehicle aims to match buyers' lifestyles by incorporating new elements into the Kangoo. Based around a design of expression and robustness inside and out, the Kangoo Compact Concept boasts original styling and 'unprecedented proportions'. The concept car is set off by its two-tone 'Fireball Orange and Brushed Aluminium' colour scheme, further highlighting its curvaceous but robust lines, as well as its light 'open air' cabin, made so by a full-length panoramic sunroof.
Developed in conjunction with 'Rollerblade', the concept car is built around a roller-skating theme, with its inspiration coming from the shared values of 'mobility, togetherness and lust for life'. 'Sitting room' elements in the cabin are incorporated to encourage the 'pursuit of leisure' with Renault describing the fit as 'playful' but 'refined', combining 'Skate Blue' leather and 'techno' Aluminium Grey 3D mesh fabric. And for further 'practicality', front seats slide forward enabling the swivelling of the rear bench to allow a 'sitting room' style space with entry via the tailgate. Naturally, Renault have also equipped the Kangoo Compact Concept with spare roller skates, stowed away in purpose-built side panel bins.
Renault maintain that young, sporty owners of such a vehicle will be interested in their environmental impact and so have equipped the Kangoo Compact Concept with a Euro IV-compliant diesel engine, a 1.5-litre dCi unit capable of 240 Nm (177 lbs/ft) of torque on tap at 2,200rpm and a 105 hp (78 kW) output.
