Infiniti has announced plans to introduce an all-new luxury sports sedan at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this January.

Although no specific details were released, the model is undoubtedly the 2014 G sedan. Previous spy photos have shown it will have M-inspired styling with a prominent grille, a raised hood and a distinctive shoulder line. We can also expect upward sweeping character lines and crescent-shaped C-pillars.

Engine options remain unconfirmed, but choices could include an updated 3.7-liter V6 and a Mercedes-sourced 2.1-liter four-cylinder diesel. There could also a hybrid variant and an IPL sedan with a turbocharged engine.

Infiniti president Johan de Nysschen will also use the unveiling to outline a new direction for the brand.
