Fiat has unveiled the 2013 500C Abarth at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Set to go on sale early next year, the convertible features an aggressive front fascia, revised side skirts and a power-operated top with an integrated spoiler. There's also a rear diffuser and 16-inch cast-aluminum wheels with Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires.
Interior changes are limited but the model comes nicely equipped with sport seats, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, aluminum pedals and a black shifter with red contrast stitching. Customers can also order a navigation system and a Beats Audio system with six speakers, an 8-inch subwoofer and eight-channel amplifier.
Power is provided by a turbocharged 1.4-liter MultiAir engine that develops 160 bhp (119 kW) and 170 lb-ft (230 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a five-speed manual transmission which enables the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in the "low 7 second range."
The car also has a sport-tuned suspension with stiffer springs, cast-iron lower control arms, KONI twin-tube struts and a solid rear stabilizer bar. Additionally there's a retuned electronic stability control system and high-performance brakes with 11.1-inch rotors and red calipers.
