Opel is getting back into the motorsport game with the Adam Cup and Astra OPC Cup starting next year.

The German brand will use a rally cup version of the new Adam in the 2013 season. This has been closely specified to FIA R2 standards and will take part in the ADAC Opel Rally Cup part of the ADAC Rally Masters race series.

The Astra OPC Cup has been engineered to meet VLN Endurance Championship standards and will take part in the Astra OPC Cup which will include a 24-hour race on the Nürburgring.

Opel's strategy has been conceived to last initially until 2016 and after that a development program will be run, where talented drivers will be able to graduate from the ADAC Opel Rally Cup. At first, the Adam will be used but in the future a rally version of the Corsa will be employed.
