Infiniti's Global Director of Formula One has confirmed Sebastian Vettel and Sébastien Buemi have been testing an upcoming model in Japan and on the Nürburgring.
We've already heard reports that the partnership between Infiniti and Red Bull Racing could expand beyond marketing, but J.F. Musial has managed to get Infiniti's Global Director of Formula One to confirm Sebastian Vettel and Sébastien Buemi have been testing an upcoming model in Japan and on the Nürburgring.
According to Andreas Sigl, Vettel "liked a lot, but was very critical on other stuff." He added, "I wanted him to be critical because that's the chance to really make an impact."
Sigl wouldn't confirm which model Vettel was testing but hinted it would be introduced in the next 60 days or so. This likely implies the car is the 2014 G sedan which could debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
In related news, Sigl didn't rule out the possibility of an Infiniti-Red Bull Racing line positioned above IPL as a direct competitor to BMW M and Mercedes AMG.
