Renault has introduced the Mégane Estate GT 220, ahead of its launch later this month.

Designed to combine sport with practicality, the special edition features a unique exterior with body-color door handles, gloss black accents and 18-inch Serdard-style wheels. Interior changes include a steel gear knob and an individually-numbered "GT 220" plate.

The model has also been equipped with a sport-tuned suspension, a revised power steering system, beefier brakes and high-performance tires.

Power is provided by a turbocharged 2.0-liter petrol engine that develops 220 HP (162 kW) and 340 Nm (251 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the model to average 7.3 L/100km (32.2 mpg US / 38.6 mpg UK) and have CO2 emissions of 169 g/km.

The Mégane Estate GT 220 will be offered in 11 European markets as well as Japan.
