Volkswagen has announced plans to offer the Beetle Fender Edition in the United States.
Named after the legendary guitar manufacturer, the Fender Edition has a Deep Black Pearl Metallic exterior with brushed chrome mirrors, Bi-Xenon headlights and 18-inch “Disc-style” alloy wheels. The cabin features a unique dashboard and a Fender premium audio system with dual-voice coil speakers, a 10-channel amplifier and a total output of 400 watts. Turbo models also have V-Tex leatherette sport seats with unique cloth inserts.
Under the hood, two engines are available. The entry-level model has a 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine that develops 170 HP (125 kW), while the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produces 200 HP (147 kW).
The Beetle Fender Edition will go on sale later this month and U.S. pricing starts at $24,440.
