Subaru has revealed the 2014 Forester, ahead of the car’s debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
After seeing it in a leaked brochure and then in a parking lot, now we have official images and video. This is the fourth generation of the crossover and will be available in the U.S. with a choice of two engines.
The first is a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder boxer naturally-aspirated unit with 170 hp (127 kW) and 174 lb-ft (236 Nm) of torque, connected to a six-speed manual or a CVT. The second engine is a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder boxer turbocharged unit with 250 hp (186 kW) and 258 lb-ft (349 Nm) of torque, mated exclusively to a CVT.
Compared to the model it replaces, the new Forester has grown in size as it is 4,595 mm (+35mm) long, 1,695 (+20mm) wide and 1,795mm (+15mm) tall, with a 2,640mm (+25mm) wheelbase. The 2.5-liter version gets 17-inch alloys, while the 2.0-liter turbo model is offered with 18-inch wheels.
More details will be released during the L.A. Auto Show.
