Renault has released the first details about the 2014 Clio Cup.
Currently undergoing testing, the model has familiar styling but is distinguished by an aggressive front fascia, a roof-mounted scoop and 17-inch Speedline Corse alloy wheels. There's also a rear wing that provides 40 kg (88.1 lbs) of downforce at 125 mph (201 km/h).
Power is provided by a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 220 HP (161 kW) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed sequential transmission which sends power to the front wheels via a limited slip differential.
Other performance highlights include AP Racing brakes, ZF-Sachs adjustable dampers and a data acquisition system with a dashboard-mounted display.
The 2014 Renault Clio Cup will go on sale in September of 2013 and pricing starts at €37,800 (excluding VAT).
