The GIBBS Quadski is scheduled to go on sale in mid-November at an estimated price of $40,000. Has a BMW engine with 175 hp.

GIBBS says that this is the world’s first high-speed sports amphibian. Developed in the United States, New Zealand and United Kingdom, the Quadski will be produced in Auburn Hills, Michigan at a 54,000-square-foot assembly plant.

It will be capable of reaching speeds of up to 45 mph (72 km/h) on land and water, while the transition between both will be done in approximately five seconds. At the heart of this amphibious vehicle is a BMW Motorrad engine that develops 175 hp (130 kW). By pressing a button the wheels will retract when entering water and after that will deploy when reaching land.

It has a curb weight of 1,300 pounds and comes with a 15-gallon fuel tank. It will be sold with a choice of five colors: black, silver, blue, yellow and red.

The estimated price tag of the GIBBS Quadski is of $40,000. Exact pricing details and further information will be revealed before mid-November when the vehicle goes on sale. The company says that within the next 12 months they will have more than 20 dealerships in the United States.
