Toyota has announced the introduction of the ProAce medium-duty van for the European market.
Toyota has announced at the beginning of this week the introduction of the ProAce medium-duty van for the European market. As previously reported, the rebadged Peugeot Expert is scheduled to go on sale in the second quarter of 2013 and will be available with various Euro 5-compliant diesels, two lengths and heights and a payload of up to 1,200 kg, with a towing capacity of up to two tonnes.
The engine lineup starts with a 1.6-liter with 89 hp (66 kW) and 132 lb-ft (180 Nm) linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox. There are also two versions of the 2.0-liter engine, one with 126 hp (94 kW) and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm) while the other has 161 hp (120 kW) and 251 lb-ft (340 Nm). These two engines are connected to a 6-speed manual transmission.
The 2013 Toyota ProAce will provide load capacities of 5m3, 6m3 or 7m3 depending on the chosen configuration. Clients will be able to select from either a top-hinged tailgate or a dual side-hinged rear doors that open to 270 degrees.
