According to Ford, the 2013 C-MAX Energi is the most fuel-efficient plug-in hybrid in U.S., returning 108 MPGe in the city.
Ford says that the 2013 C-MAX Energi is the most fuel-efficient plug-in hybrid in the United States, being able to return an EPA-certified 108 MPGe (miles-per-gallon equivalent) in the city and 100 MPGe in the combined cycle. In addition, the Blue Oval mentions that over the course of five years those who own this car will be able to save almost $7,000 in comparison to an average new car.
The 2013 C-MAX Energi is 5 MPGe more efficient in the combined cycle compared to the 2013 Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid. Carrying a price tag of $29,995 (including delivery & destination fees and after federal tax credit), this is going to be one of the cheapest plug-in hybrid sold in the United States.
Besides the C-MAX Energi, Ford also plans on offering the C-MAX Hybrid which has been rated by EPA at 47 mpg city / 47 mpg highway / 47 mpg combined. At the beginning of next year Ford will also introduce the Fusion Energi which will also deliver more than 100 MPGe. Let’s not forget about the Focus Electric rated at 110 MPGe in the city.
