Mazda UK has announced the introduction of the 2013 Mazda3 MPS, a hot hatch powered by a 2.3-liter turbo engine with 260 HP.
Mazda’s UK division has announced the arrival of the hot 2013 Mazda3 MPS “super-hatch” that has a starting price of 23,995 pounds. Under the hood it hosts an “immensely powerful and responsive” 2.3-liter MZR DISI Turbo gasoline engine that produces 260 HP (191 kW) and a peak torque of 280 lb-ft (380 Nm) at 3,000 rpm.
All that power is sent to the front wheels with the help of a 6-speed manual gearbox and a limited slip differential. Featuring a hood air intake, the refreshed Mazda3 MPS rides on gunmetal-finish 18-inch alloys and comes with a big rear wing with a new inner spoiler.
Some of the other goodies include bi-xenon headlights with adaptive front light system, 320mm ventilated front disc brakes, front fog lamps and a radar-based rear vehicle monitoring system. It will be available with the following paint finishes: Velocity Red, Crystal White Pearlescent, Aluminum Silver and Black Mica.
