Peugeot’s UK division has announced that only 29 units of the 208 GTi will be available.
Peugeot’s UK division has announced that only 29 units of the 208 GTi Limited Edition will be available, with prices starting at 20,495 pounds. The reason why they have chosen the number 29 because it represents the numbers of years that have passed since the original 205 GTi was launched in the UK in 1984. Peugeot plans on selling only 54 units worldwide.
Each of the cars is going to be individually numbered and will feature Digital Radio (DAB), a first time for a car wearing the Peugeot badge. The lower grille of the car will wear a Union Jack flag while all cars will get an exclusive satin pearlescent white paint. The Peugeot 208 GTi will ride on 17-inch carbon onyx black alloy wheels with 205/45 tires.
As a reminder, the car is powered by a 1.6-liter turbo gasoline engine with 197 HP (147 kW) and 203 lb-ft (275 Nm), linked to a 6-speed, close-ratio manual gearbox that enables the car to reach a top speed in excess of 140 mph (225 km/h).
Production of the limited GTi will commence in April next year, while deliveries will start one month later.
