Acura has announced plans to introduce the 2014 RLX at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Previewed by a concept earlier this year, the production model will feature conservative styling that was recently revealed in patent photos. Notable highlights will include "Jewel Eye" LED headlights and a toned-down version of the company's shield grille.
We can also expect a luxurious interior with a new AcuraLink communication system that offers "airbag deployment notification, stolen vehicle tracking, remote locking and unlocking, security alarm notification and concierge service."
On the safety front, the sedan will come equipped with a collision mitigation braking system and a lane keep assist system. There will also be front, side and side-curtain airbags for the driver and front passenger.
Under the hood, the front-wheel drive model will be powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 310 hp (231 kW / 314 PS). We can also expect an all-wheel drive variant which could use a 3.5-liter V6 engine and three electric motors for a combined output in excess of 370 hp (276 kW / 375 PS).
