According to a recent report, Ram is considering a production version of the Long-Hauler concept.

Speaking with reporters, Ram CEO Fred Diaz said the response has been "absolutely staggering" from consumers and dealers alike. This has led the company to start building a business case for the model in the hope of getting it into production.

As we have previously reported, the Long-Hauler concept is based on the Ram 5500 Chassis Cab and features a Mega Cab passenger compartment, an 8-foot bed and three fuel tanks that hold 170 gallons (644 liters) of diesel. While the idea of a $700 (€535) fill up would likely cause a few jaws to drop, the truck also has a 7,500 Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR), a 9,300 lb (4,218 kg) curb weight and a 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel engine.
