Citroen will showcase in Paris at the end of the month an electric version of the DS3.
We already know that Citroen plans on bringing the DS3 Cabrio to the upcoming Paris Motor Show, but now we have learned that they’ll also showcase the DS3 Electrum concept. As its name suggest, this will be an all-electric variant of the supermini that promises to provide a range of up to 75 miles (120 km).
Citroen mentions that the electric drivetrain of this concept “has an innovative and non-intrusive design”, featuring two 65 kW motors installed on the front axle, thus maintaining the interior cabin and cargo space so making electric versions of current models will be possible without any major reengineering.
The vehicle features a Panasonic 17.5 kWh lithium-ion battery while the charging socket has been placed under the fuel flap. This is compatible with quick charge stations so an 80 percent charge level can be obtained in only a half an hour.
