Porsche expands Cayenne lineup with the arrival of the Cayenne S diesel with twin-turbo V8 4.2-liter engine.
There is a new member in Porsche’s Cayenne lineup as the German automaker has announced the arrival of the Cayenne S diesel with a twin-turbo V8 4.2-liter engine that produces 382 bhp (284 kW) and a peak torque of 850 Nm (627 lb-ft), enough for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 5.7 seconds and a top speed of 157 mph (252 km/h).
The Cayenne S diesel promises to deliver 34 mpg UK (28.31 mpg US or 8.3 liters / 100 km) and emit 218 g/km of CO2. Porsche says that this is the only V8-powered SUV in the world that comes with the auto start/stop function, and with its 100-liter fuel tank it should be able to provide a range of more than 745 miles (1199 km).
This new version of the Cayenne is scheduled to hit European dealerships in January next year for a base price of 58,243 pounds (including VAT) in the UK and 77,684 euros in Germany - including 19 percent VAT. As standard, it is offered with the Porsche Traction Management (PTM), dual-zone automatic climate control, leather interior, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, 7-inch touchscreen display and 18-inch alloys.
