Volvo brings 250 units of the C30 Polestar for the United States market, prices start at $32,445.

While most Volvo fans are waiting for a production version of the S60 Polestar, the Swedish carmaker has announced this week the limited edition C30 Polestar that will be available exclusively in the United States where only 250 units will be delivered, with prices starting at $32,445, including the $895 destination charge.

The car is powered by the same 5-cylinder 2.5-liter turbocharged engine but after Polestar works its magic it outputs an extra 23 hp (17 kW) and 37 lb-ft (50 Nm) of torque for a total of 250 hp (186 kW) and 273 lb-ft (369 Nm). They can boost the output of the engine by increasing airflow into the combustion chambers and also by implementing advanced spark timing.

Even though it packs more punch, the Volvo C30 Polestar Limited Edition is just as economical as the standard model so it can return 21 mpg city / 29 mpg highway when equipped with the 6-speed manual gearbox, while with the optional 5-speed Geartronic automatic transmission it can return 21 mpg city / 30 mpg highway.

It rides on a new set of 17-inch Styx alloy wheels that have a matte black finish, while all 250 units will be wearing the Rebel Blue hue. Inside the cabin it gets a numbered plate, leather seating surfaces, while the level of equipment offered is the equivalent of the Premier Plus trim of the C30 T5 R-Design so it comes with power driver’s seat, power glass sunroof, LED DRLs, active dual xenon headlights and others as well.
